Duisburg honors young talents: € 8,500 for committed athletes!
The Duisburg Youth Sport Foundation has distributed a total of 8,500 euros to talented athletes and clubs for 2024. The foundation is managed by the Stadtsportbund Duisburg and was originally founded with a donation of DM 225,000 by Thyssen AG. Their goal is to promote performance -oriented young athletes in Duisburg.
The advisory board of the foundation, which is chaired by Mayor Sören Link, decides annually on the distribution of funds. The sum of 8,500 euros is made up of interest income, grants from the Duisburg Stadtsport Federation and other donations. The honor took place on December 18, 2024 in the Duisburg town hall, where Mayor Sören Link and Uwe Busch, Managing Director of the City Sports Association, handed over prices.
