Schalke 04 defeats Elversberg: The upward trend is unstoppable!

In the 2nd Bundesliga, FC Schalke 04 achieved an impressive away win against the leaders SV Elversberg. With a clear 4: 1, the Gelsenkirchen triumphs and thus confirmed their rising trend of the past few weeks. The game started in front of 9,502 spectators: Schalke took the lead in the 11th minute through Kenan Karaman, but Carlo Sickinger equalized for Elversberg in the 25th minute. In the second half, Schalke took command and gave the host no chance. Moussa Sylla scored two goals (55th, 75th) and Ron Schallenberg also entered the goal scorer list (67th) and catapulted Schalke in the table middle field, while the Elversberger now have to fight for their top position.

At the same time, the 1. FC Magdeburg also secured important points with a 5-2 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf. After Düsseldorf initially took the lead, the Magdeburgers turned the game thanks to a strong team performance. After hits from Baris Atik (67th), Martijn Kaars (70th), and Mo El Hankouri (87th, 90+4) they gave themselves the victory and overtook the Düsseldorfers in the table. However, the jubilation was overshadowed by the news about an attack on a Magdeburg Christmas market, which caused a depressed mood in the stadium, as [Laola1.at] reported. FC Magdeburg and Schalke 04 are on the right track and show that they have to be taken seriously in the title race of the 2nd Bundesliga.
