On Thursday morning, January 16, 2025, a room fire broke out in an apartment building on Kettwiger Strasse in Düsseldorf-Flingern. The fire brigade was informed about the fire at around 11 a.m. and was only two minutes later. On the third floor of the house, the forces found that a room was on fire. Measures to combat the fire were immediately initiated, and a turntable ladder was provided for any evacuation measures. Despite the dense smoke development, no people could be found in the affected apartment, so that the firefighters focused directly on the extinguishing of the flames.
The Düsseldorf fire brigade was able to control the fire within just ten minutes and a little later reported "fire under control" to the control center. After the extinguishing work, extensive ventilation measures were used to relieve the smoky areas. The post -controls in adjacent apartments quickly revealed the all -clear: the fire had no effect on neighboring units. In order to avoid possible dangers, the electricity and gas supply of the affected apartment was parked as a precaution by the Netzgesellschaft Düsseldorf. According to local office , the police have initiated the examinations of the cause of the fire. After about 90 minutes, the last of the around 20 firefighters were able to visit their locations again.
