Stau-chaos on January 9th: Remscheid in the traffic unit!

On January 9, 2025, the traffic situation in Remscheid, Wermelskirchen and the surrounding region is characterized by numerous traffic jams and traffic disabilities. The most important traffic routes in the region are the A1 and A46 motorways as well as several federal and state roads. The A1 is known for almost 6500 hours of traffic jam between Cologne and Dortmund, which makes it one of the traffic jams in Germany. The A46, which connects Düsseldorf and Wuppertal, is also considered a traffic jam route No. 6 in North Rhine-Westphalia. The B229, which connects Radevormwald and Remscheid as well as the B237, which Wipperfürth leads via Hückeswagen to Remscheid, are also of great importance for the commuters in the region.

Current traffic jams and traffic reports

• 10:00 p.m. (07.01.2025): blocking due to an unsecured scene of the accident, directional lane closed until around 10:20 p.m.
• 9:10 p.m. (07.01.2025): Danger from an unsecured scene of the accident, right lane locked
• 9:00 p.m. (07.01.2025): Danger from an unsecured scene of the accident on the hard shoulder

The city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia has around 112,000 inhabitants and is well connected by the A1, A46 and A535.
