On Tuesday morning, around 7 a.m., a water pipe burst on Von-der-Goltz-Straße and ensured a huge hole in the sidewalk. Water bubbled out with enormous pressure and turned the street into a raging river!

The fire brigade was quickly on site, but the damage was already enormous. "The water flowed down the entire street to Hamburger Straße and even further over the Klönnestrasse to the train," explained fire brigade spokesman Matthias Kleinhans. The situation was so bad that the water was up to 60 centimeters high in many cellars! Several cellars are flooded and a parked car sank half in the earth hole - a picture of horror!

The police blocked Von-Goltz-Straße, which serves as a detour route for the already blocked Hamburger Straße. The traffic builds up while the emergency services do everything they can to control the situation. "We are still in use until morning," said the fire brigade.
