Pastor Hojenski resigns: Sabbagzeit for new tasks in Paderborn

St. Ewaldi Dortmund, Deutschland - An unexpected resignation shakes the St. Ewaldi municipality in Dortmund! Pastor Ludger Hojenski has given up his parish office for health reasons and will therefore also settle the management of the pastoral area. The popular priest of the Archdiocese Paderborn has Archbishop Dr. Udo Markus Bentz asked for his loss, which comes into force on January 1, 2025.

After 15 years of committed work in St. Ewaldi, Hojenski will compete with a accompanied Sabbath to recover and find new perspectives within the Archdiocese of Paderborn. In the meantime, Pastor Michael Vogt will take over the management of the parish, while he continues to work as a pastor in the pastoral area of Dortmund west. Hojenski, who is 59 years old, left many traces in his time as a pastor and is highly valued by the community.

The consequences for the community

The decision by Hojenski comes as a surprise and raises questions. What does this mean for the future of the St. Ewaldi parish? The municipality now has to adjust to the transition period, while Pastor Vogt takes the reins in hand. A re -occupation of the position is pending, and the believers hope for a quick solution to ensure the continuity of pastoral work.
