Truck accident at the Kassel Westkreuz: adhesive barrels roll on the street!

A dramatic accident occurred on Wednesday evening, November 27th, on the A44 near Kassel! A truck that was traveling from Dortmund towards Kassel overturned in a curve on the Westkreuz and lost several barrels with a dangerous melting adhesive. Fortunately, the driver, who apparently did not adjust the speed, remained unharmed, but the consequences of the accident were devastating!

The tractor -trailer tipped over to the driver's side at 8 p.m. and partially rolled over the guardrail. The rescue work was extremely complicated and went to the early morning hours of the next day. In the meantime, there were massive traffic disruptions on the A44 and the A49, since the ascent in both directions had to be blocked for several hours. Drivers had to adjust to long traffic jams!

The good news: Despite the spectacular accident, there were no injuries. The truck was loaded with around 100 barrels of melting adhesive, some of which rolled out of the trailer and blocked the road. The clean -up work was a major challenge for the emergency services that were employed late into the night. Another incident in Northern Hesse shows that the police are also challenged in other missions when a SEK visited a man due to suspected drug trafficking in Kassel and discovered even more criminal relevant.
