Soulymane Bah: From the refugee to the master - a way full of hope!

Coesfeld, Deutschland - Soulymane Bah has written a remarkable life story in Germany that is characterized by privation, hope and ultimately success. He originally comes from Guinea, a country where many citizens suffer from adverse circumstances. "I just wanted to get out," Bah describes his escape pulse, which resulted from the repressive political situation and the living conditions in his homeland. Where there was often a lack of the most basic resources such as water and electricity, it was not certain, especially after his participation in demonstrations that brought him to the target of the authorities.

After settling in Germany - initially in a accommodation in Coesfeld - he found himself in a legal gray area. He was not allowed to work as a "patient", but he volunteered what helped him learn to learn the language and to establish social contacts. His first job as a assembly line divided him from his passion, which was in computer science. Over time, however, he was able to pursue his passion and completed his training as an electronics engineer for energy and building technology in January 2020.

The circumstances for BAH remained difficult. In order to apply for a residence permit, he needed a passport that he was supposed to procure in his home country during the pandemic. This turned out to be almost impossible because he was neither vaccinated nor had access to the necessary health resources. When he finally looked for help from the Caritas Association, several options were available to him, including complaints against the requirements of the message or continuing his life as a tolerated under hard legal conditions. Ultimately, he decided to fly back to Guinea to get the passport.

After returning to Germany, BAH not only successfully completed his training, but also trained as a master in electrical engineering. This happened as part of a master celebration that took place in Münster on October 6th. He has been passing on his knowledge as a vocational school teacher in Ahaus for a short time and is training the next generation in his craft. His fascination for electrical engineering is reflected in his commitment as a teacher, where he brings basic topics to his students such as turning protection circuit.

The combination of its part -time training as a certified business economist and his teaching activity shows how Bah managed to develop professionally and personally. Despite the challenges that he met on his way, he feels the security that his work gives him. "The only certainty is that I can now work," he describes his situation, which gives him the opportunity to be there for his three children.
