Rentmeister Gurris invites: Discover Burg Vischering in the 17th century!

At Burg Vischering in Lüdinghausen, an exciting acting tour will be offered on October 27, 2024, which gives historical insights into the life of the 17th century. Actor Patrick Gurris will slip into the role of Rentmeister Adolph Heidenreich Wernekinck and thus take the visitors on a journey through time that makes the fascination of the past tangible.

Wernekinck, who acted as a senior official of the castle in the 17th century, was responsible for the administration of income and expenses. His character comes to life during the tour, while he has to tell the stories present about common celebrations, duties and the challenges of life. "Authority of the Rentmeister and learn interesting things about the history of the castle and everyday life in the late 17th century," advises Henriette Fickers, whose expertise in cultural education will benefit visitors.

The tour of the past

The tour begins in the courtyard of the castle, where up to 25 curious participants have the opportunity to stroll through the venerable rooms with the mastermaster. The insight into the historical circumstances is not only informative, but also entertaining. Anyone who accompanies Wernekinck learns more about the conditions at the courtyard and what remained hidden as long as the gentlemen were not present.

Participation in this unique event is possible against payment of the museum entry and a fee of 10 euros per person. Registrations can be made by phone at 02591/7990-0 or by email to Kultur (at) Kreis-coesfeld.de. In addition, another date for this tour is offered on December 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

The presence of a rent master who does not take a leaf out of his mouth offers the audience an authentic view of what is happening at the time and makes the lead an unforgettable experience. For those interested in culture, acting is an opportunity to learn more about the historical architecture and the living history of Vischering Castle.

The commitment to this form of cultural education is also evident in the continuous program design of Vischering Castle. Such activities set significant accents to arouse the interest of the citizens in the history of their surroundings.
