The dark season not only brings cold, but also the risk of burglaries! Operations manager Hubertus Eßmann warns: "A break -in is not only a material loss, but often also leaves emotional damage." The police do everything possible to clarify and prevent these serious offenses. 337 vehicles were stopped during the controls and 237 people were checked, which led to 62 administrative offenses. Eßmann draws a positive balance: "The knowledge of property crime is directly involved in our investigative work."

But not only burglars are a problem! It is also dangerous in road traffic. Distraction from cell phones, excessive speed and journeys under drugs or alcohol are the main causes of accidents. Eßmann makes it clear: "If you look at the smartphone for two seconds while driving, you drive blindly - that's 30 meters without control!"

An important note for homeowners: burglars often penetrate by prying windows or patio doors. "Time is the decisive factor. If perpetrators are not successful within 20 to 30 seconds, they often break off," explains Eßmann. To prevent burglaries, the police recommend sufficient lighting and securing windows and doors.
