In the Ennepe-Ruhr district, an alarming trend becomes visible: less than half of the students have a migration background! According to the latest data from the State Statistical Office, this proportion is only 39.6 percent. In comparison, there are already 43 percent nationwide - and the numbers continue to rise!
The Situation varies greatly within North Rhine-Westphalia. Wuppertal leads the list, where impressive 58.6 percent of the students have a migration background. But in the tranquil Coesfeld district, it looks very different: the proportion is 22.8 percent here. A shocking difference that raises questions!
A look at the numbers
These statistics are not just numbers - they are a reflection of social development! The Ennepe-Ruhr district must seriously deal with the integration of young people. The challenge is clear: How can we make sure that all students have the same opportunities for education and participation, regardless of their background?
The differences between the regions are striking and shot a light on the different integration strategies. The increasing numbers in other cities should serve as a warning signal and encourage the Ennepe-Ruhr district to take measures to close this gap!
