Almost half of all trucks and buses inspected did not comply with the regulations! During the current “Operation Truck & Bus” in Recklinghausen, the police seized over 100 vehicles. The shock balance shows: A warning sign for road safety! During the Europe-wide priority checks, the officials worked closely with customs and the Federal Office for Goods Transport and examined the commercial transport industry.
A total of an impressive 200 vehicles were examined, but what the officials found was alarming: 112 violations of social regulations and strict working time regulations as well as 16 inadequate load securing systems. In addition, 8 vehicles were noticed due to technical defects. Another disaster: 6 drivers could not provide the necessary documents. A serious sign that compliance is being ignored far too often!
Criminal offenses are piling up!
But that's not all - various administrative offenses were also identified. The inspection partners campaigned for fair conditions in traffic and also checked the minimum wage and other labor law aspects on 32 other vehicles. In a decisive move, 17 drivers were banned from continuing their journey. This is a clear signal from the police: safety and compliance with the rules must come first! The controls were necessary to make commercial traffic in Recklinghausen safe and to no longer accept such abuses.
