Kassel shines: Christmas market preparations with flying Santa Claus!
The anticipation for the Kassel Christmas market is increasing! On Saturday, an impressive 18 meter high Christmas tree will be set up on the Königsplatz. This majestic Douglasia is felled in Borken in the morning and placed on the pitch on the same day. The preparations are already in full swing: 62 plane trees were decorated with shining fairy lights to underline the festive mood.
This year the Christmas market is all about Ludwig Emil Grimm, the youngest brother of the famous Brothers Grimm. His name is devoted to the Christmas tree while the market opens its doors on November 25th. The first preparations began at the end of October with the structure of the tower on Friedrichsplatz and the high rope for the spectacular show of the flying Santa Claus, Fernando Traber. From November 11th, the construction of the booths and stands will really take speed, and Traber will land on the Königsplatz every day at 6 p.m.
spectacular attractions and festive stands
The Christmas market promises to become a real festival for the senses! The large mulled wine and fire tongue booth area is built on the Königsplatz, followed by the Käthe Wohlfahrt sales hut on November 13th. A stand is built on Friedrichsplatz in the form of a locomotive for chestnut lovers. In addition, a 70-meter-long slide will provide fun and action, while the Danish-inspired "Julemarked" attracts families with a heated chalet tent.
A very special highlight is the Grimms Märchendorf, which consists of six artistically designed huts and offers high -quality gifts and hot punch. Families can experience the magical world of fairy tales here while readings take place every day. From November 25th to December 30th, the Kassel fairy tale Christmas market is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with restaurants until 10 p.m. A festival that you shouldn't miss!
