Neuwied closes gap: New bike path is created on the banks of the Rhine!
In Neuwied, it is currently being worked on with high pressure on an important section of the Rheinufer bike path! Over 640 meters are attached to the Engerser field to close a crucial gap between Mainz and Bonn. This measure is of interest not only for tourists, but also for everyday cyclists who rely on a continuous cycle path network. Reiner Geisen from the ADFC emphasizes that the closure of these gaps will significantly improve cycling in the city.
But that's not all! The gray tower is also busy. Another 700 meter long piece of the Rheinufer bike path is completed here, which completes the connection between the walking and cycle path in front of the gray tower and the cycle path in the Engerser field, which was created four years ago. Upon request, the city confirmed that these work is necessary to offer cyclists a safe and consistent route.
a step in the right direction
Working on the Rheinufer cycle path are an important step to increase the attractiveness of the region for cyclists. With the completion of these sections, not only the connection between the cities is improved, but also increases safety for all cyclists. Neuwied thus sets a clear sign of sustainable mobility and the promotion of cycling in the region!
