Stadtwerke Bochum support cold help with generous donation of 1,500 euros!

Bochum, Deutschland - A generous donation of 1,500 euros was recently handed over by the Stadtwerke Bochum Stadtwerke to the cold aid of the German Red Cross (DRK). The works council, led by chairman Stefan Vieth, selected this organization to promote the important commitment to support homeless and the needy. "Every Monday evening we help people who are on the sidelines of society," said Matthias Mizgaiski, a volunteer of this initiative. With the amount donated, necessary things such as a weatherproof pavilion and sleeping bags can now be purchased that will help the cold help team to work even more effectively, such as Lokalkompass.de reported.

The cold help team does valuable work by not only spending food, but also maintaining direct contact with the needy people. The initiative met an urgent need, since over 20 percent of the Bochum population lives below the poverty line. Donations are essential to continue to help. Anyone who wants to contribute something can easily donate via the online donation shop and decide for themselves whether a warm meal, shoes or other urgently needed things are provided. The managing director of the Bäumer bakery & confectionery, who also supports the cold aid, emphasizes how important this help is: "The remaining baked goods arrive exactly where they are most needed," says Marcus Bäumer.
