Safe on the go: BPOL NRW Schult People with Disabilities in Bochum!

In an impressive initiative, the federal police, together with Deutsche Bahn AG, traffic watch of the police in North Rhine -Westphalia and Bogestra, sets a sign of security and integration! In the past few weeks, gripping prevention events have taken place in the Constantin Workshop for the Disability Workshop, which enable people with disabilities to take an encouraging step into the traffic world.

The actors first introduced themselves and laid the basis for valuable cooperation. At a performance date, BESTRA explained how the innovative “mom” app is used for bus trips. The participants were then introduced to the essential processes of getting in and out in a special bus training- a true masterpiece of practical training! And that's not all! In the Bochum main station, the federal police officers turned to the dangers of rail facilities and gave valuable tips for the safe use of train stations. Particularly impressive: a look behind the scenes of the Federal Police Guard, where the daily challenges and tasks of the officials were outlined.

In a challenging de -escalation training, a police officer helped the participants to move safely and confidently in public. From the right posture to dealing with possible tracts - important strategies for self -assertion were conveyed here. In addition, safety -friendly waiting positions for visual impaired people were discussed. But the highlight was the special path training, in which the group explored the way home under the guidance of the federal police and Bogestra to point out potential dangers!

The public transport rally, in which the participants were given the opportunity to prove their newly learned skills in practice. At various stations, they demonstrated their knowledge and received valuable information. Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the regulatory partners, the participants could be given a safe and fear -free access to public transport! A real progress for the quality of life of the people concerned!
