Bochum-Altenbochum. A construction site causes excitement! Schulenburgstraße in Altenbochum has been tight since October 14, and the period scheduled as a two -week period stretches into uncertainty. Where is the hoped -for approval on Monday, October 28th? Instead, the road remains a construction site - a nightmare for all road users!

The city administration has now announced the reasons for the delay: weather and seasonal circumstances caused this unpleasant development, as city spokesman Peter van DYK explains on request. But there is light at the end of the tunnel! The renovation of the street is "basically complete". After extensive milling work, the paved surface received a new top layer. Only a few last asphalted processes are still pending on Tuesday. Good to know: On Wednesday, October 30th, the street will finally be released for traffic again! A reason to celebrate for those affected!

Problems with numerous potholes

The approximately 300 meter long Schulenburgstrasse combines Buselohstraße and Wirmerstrasse in Altenbochum. It was plagued in a disastrous state, especially through constant bus traffic. These problems had caused potholes to be patched only temporarily. The comprehensive renovation was overdue!

The effects of the blocking were noticeable for many: residents of Schulenburg- and Wirmerstrasse as well as the residents of the Klausenergrund Straße were affected. Since the beginning of the autumn holidays, they have only been able to reach their access via alternative routes. The underground car park of the VBW main administration was also unavailable and the bus lines 355 and 368 had to be diverted-pure chaos!

The consequential damage to the unfortunate detour measures did not fail to materialize: some bus drivers noticed the closure too late and had to experience how articulated buses got stuck at the construction site. With a lot of skill, they were reverberated back to Wirmerstrasse - a real adventure trip for the traffic control center of the Bogestra!
