Large commitment to the Aachen youth fire brigade: A look behind the scenes!

On Saturday, November 16, the youth fire brigade of the city of Aachen will carry out a spectacular exercise from 12 p.m. In the start -up phase, temporary traffic impairments on Zieglerstraße, Kaubendenstraße and Kellerhausstraße are expected, as numerous emergency vehicles are moving. The Aachen paper recycling & container service Horsch GmbH & Co. KG kindly provided its property on Kellerhausstraße for this exciting exercise.

The practice scenario is not for the faint of heart: a big fire with a search for people is on the program! In order to add reality as precisely as possible, injury actors and fog machines are used. Passers -by who come by accident could get the impression of a real effort - one reason why the city of Aachen informs the population in advance to avoid misunderstandings.

The youth fire brigade: future of the emergency services

The youth fire brigade plays a crucial role in training and recruiting future fire brigade. In Aachen, the youth fire brigade is organized in three departments (north, center, south) and comprises around 120 young people and 30 committed instructors. This exercise is not only an exciting challenge for the young firefighters, but also an important step in their training!
