The topic of family is the focus of many realities, but the idyll is often deceptive. Many families in Germany meet the challenges that arise through lack of time, professional obligations and financial difficulties. In view of these circumstances, the working group "Family -Friendly City of Science" has launched a new series of events that are entitled "Families in focus".

a first step towards solution

The opening event will take place on Saturday, November 2, in the Center Charlemagne at the Katschhof. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., families have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the working group and to describe their own challenges. This creates space for dialogue - it is the desire not only to convey information, but also listen to where the problems are. In addition, visitors can expect a creative offer for children and free family tours.

The second date of the series will take place on Sunday, December 1st, in the Aachen City Library. Here, the nursing child service of the city of Aachen offers information about the requirements for foster parents and the preparations for the care relationship. The background in which living conditions the children grow up are also discussed. It is a valuable opportunity for families to learn more about this important, but often little -known topic.

As part of this series of events, several topics have already been addressed, and further events are planned. The lectures are not only suitable for families, but also for single parents and all accessible free of charge.

interdisciplinary collaboration

The working group "Family -friendly science city" has set itself the goal of identifying the challenges of families and developing solutions through regular exchange.
