Wolfsburg. The city of Wolfsburg is facing a cycle path revival! From 2025, a comprehensive renovation of dilapidated bike paths will be started, as the administration announced in an exciting press release.
The streets are in a catastrophic state - cracks, deformations and break -ins are the order of the day. The city is full of it! The aim is to offer cyclists a smooth experience and to ensure security on the ways. City building council Kai-Uwe Hirschheide emphasizes that the maintenance of the bike paths is a crucial step for sustainable mobility in Wolfsburg. "We want to continuously improve the conditions for cycling and promote the bicycle as an environmentally friendly alternative," he explains in emphasis.

Five, particularly dilapidated cycle paths, are on the list for the land renewal:
- Kölner Ring - Frankfurter Straße in Mitte West.

- Connection path Robert-Schuman-Straße 6-Graf-Bernadotte-Weg in Detmerode.
- connecting path Breslauer Straße 263-265 in Mitte-West.
- cycle path Heinrich-Heine-Straße in the city center.
a million budget for the bike paths
The city of Wolfsburg has planned an annual budget of one million euros for the cycle paths. Depending on the extent of the damage, it is decided whether partial or full renovation is necessary. The results of the floor report, which serve as the basis for the renovation decisions, are still pending. For projects that cost over 300,000 euros, the Council submits corresponding templates for coordination. The city is determined to revitalize the bike paths and to enable cyclists to drive safe and pleasant!
