Wolfsburg takes up: New drug commission should save downtown!
Wolfsburg, Deutschland - Wolfsburg faces an alarming reality: the drug problem in the city center is increasing! In order to counter this challenge, the city has launched a new project that is supposed to build on previous successes. There was a successful special commission in Wolfsburg over 25 years ago that contaminated drug use. Now a similar concept is being revived to save the drug -coated city!
The city administration has launched the drug commission, which consists of representatives of the city, the police, streetlife, drug advice centers and the Ostfalia University. Iris Bothe, a member of the Commission, emphasizes: "We have to face reality and prepare our city for the upcoming challenges." The Commission will concentrate on a holistic approach that combines prevention, education and support for those affected. Andreas Bauer, also member, adds that the exchange within the Commission is decisive to develop sustainable solutions for Wolfsburg.
First steps to combat the drug crisis
The first tasks of the Commission are clear: a comprehensive inventory of the current drug scenes in Wolfsburg is pending. The measures already taken are then evaluated in order to develop targeted approaches to contain drug use. The focus is particularly on work around the north head. In addition, the Commission will carefully observe the effects of cannabis approval and, if necessary, develop measures for urban development. Wolfsburg is determined to tackle the drug crisis and make the city safer again!
