It was great fun," said Demann, who was happy about the children's bright eyes. The VfL mascot Wölfi also created a happy atmosphere and made the children laugh. At the end, each child received a car city backpack and a VfL writing set as a memory of this special day.

reading promotion in focus

The nationwide reading day, organized by "Die Zeit", "Reading" Foundation and the "Deutsche Bahn Foundation", has the goal of putting the importance of reading in the foreground. With over 750,000 participants, this day is the largest reading festival in Germany. The initiators are committed to ensuring that both children and adults are enthusiastic about reading, because reading is a key competence for personal and school development. Regular reading promotes language development, the understanding of the text and the concentration of the children. The reading day should motivate adults to act as role models and to read regularly with children to strengthen the culture of reading in the long term.
