Volkswagen guarantees: heating costs remain stable despite austerity measures!

Wolfsburg. At Volkswagen, the temperature in the factory halls and offices remains stable even during the heating season! Despite the austerity measures of the car company, there will be no compromises in the heating costs. Both the company and the works council confirm that the proven regulations will continue to apply. The temperatures in the work areas are clearly defined by legal requirements.

The workplace rule stipulates that offices must have a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. In the factory halls, on the other hand, the temperatures between 17 and 19 degrees fluctuate, depending on the type of work. These differences are logical: While the office is mostly sitting in the office, working in the halls often requires physical exertion. The regulation takes into account the posture and work heavy to ensure a pleasant work environment.

Technical measures for temperature control

In order to achieve the required temperatures, Volkswagen relies on technical solutions such as heating and ventilation systems. If this is not sufficient, additional measures such as heating mats are used. The work clothes are also adapted to the season and the place of work in order to enable employees to work comfortably.

However, there is an upper limit: the temperature in the halls must not exceed 26 degrees, especially on hot days. The legal requirements are clear and Volkswagen is strictly about it. In winter 2022/23 there was an exception when the federal government lowered the minimum temperatures due to the energy crisis, but now the company is returning to regular standards. The heating costs are therefore not reduced - a clear sign of the commitment of Volkswagen for the safety and comfort of its employees!
