Ewering-Jansßen leaves CIV: Wilhelmshaven city center in danger!

Bianca Ewering-Jansßen announced its resignation from the board of the City interest association (CIV) in Wilhelmshaven. This decision follows the closure of your business "curve haven", which was operated in the city center. With the departure of Ewering-Janßens, the number of board members decreases to only two, which raises questions about the future ability to work.

"The joint work on the CIV board gave me a lot of fun and the success speak for themselves. The decision to resign did not make it easy for me. But since I have made my business permanently, I lack the connection to the purpose of the CIV," said Ewering-Jansßen. Her commitment to the club has spent over five years in which she had been a member of the board and the board of directors since 2021.

challenges for the board

Christoph Ganß, board member and managing director on the go, also commented on the loss of Ewering-Jansßen and noted that their resignation will heavily burden the board. "The lack of a member is noticeable," he emphasized, describing the step as a shame, but in view of the closure of their business and their move to Oldenburg. "She has always done good board work," continued Ganß.

EWERING-JANSEN itself remembers the positive developments of the CIV, in particular the cooperation in the "Team Downtown", which also includes the North Sea Passage, WFG and WTF. The joint projects aim to revitalize the city center and increase quality of stay. "We were able to bring the LabSkaSessen back to the city center," said the former board member, who is now being carried out with a new concept on two days and locations.

After the resignation, the CIV board is now reduced to only two members, which significantly limits the association's ability to act. Ganß and Tiark Reese from Sparkasse Wilhelmshaven are currently the reduced management team, which will initially remain in office until the next annual general meeting. "It is not easy to find someone for volunteering," says Ganß, adding that this applies not only to your club, but in general to many organizations. "But we still have the members in the back," says Ganß optimistic.

A special concern for the downtown Wilhelmshaven remains the lowering of the parking fees. Ewering-Janßen expressed her wish that the city will rethink the currently high fees and the expansion of times subject to the fee. "This damages the retail and the attractiveness of the city center. Strolling and taking the time has fallen by the wayside," she criticized the situation that is problematic for many retailers in the city center.

In the course of the year, Ewering-Jansßen will go to Oldenburg, where she will take over the management of the Ulla Popken branch. Your resignation could usher in a new chapter in her career, while the CIV is faced with the challenge of remaining active despite the personnel exam.
