KiTa in Lemwerder: Skilled skills ensures emergency service and stress!
Lemwerder, Deutschland - An everyday drama unfolds in the municipal kindergarten Lemwerder: It is 8.30 a.m., and Inga Bremermann breathes. All 106 children are there! But this good day is the exception. On the other hand, the kindergarten transforms into an emergency service when too many specialists are sick. Then groups have to be reduced to just ten children - a nightmare for working parents!
"The daycare information app is my lifesaver," Bremermann confesses as she enjoys her coffee. With just one click, she reaches all parents and informs them about the situation. But when the emergency service is proclaimed, many parents only have the nervousness. Wiebke Wiegandt, mother of three sons and parent spokeswoman, is always on the hat. It juggles between lunch boxes and the organization of emergency support. "I've already taken a child to work," she admits openly.
The challenge of the personnel bottlenecks
The conditions are alarming! Jutta Zander, head of department in the town hall, emphasizes: "We are well equipped in terms of personnel!" But appearance is deceptive. Eight employees are also on parental leave or maternity leave, and the part -time workers are often only available in the morning. The children suffer from the constant change of staff, which causes confusion. "Reliability is the be -all and end -all," explains teacher Aenne Ohlenbusch.
The shortage of skilled workers has deeper roots. In Lower Saxony, the training is not remunerated, while other federal states offer better models. Lemwerder tries to counteract this by offering prospective specialists at an early stage and even mothers asked on parental leave whether they can return earlier. A new jumping force from your own ranks has already caused relief. "That helps us a lot," says Ohlenbusch.
