Hafen employees in Bremerhaven: Recalculation of wages remains!
In a dramatic race for the future, the approximately 1000 port workers of the overall port (GHB) in Bremerhaven continue to fight with painful wage waiver! For over three years you have had to do without your hard-earned vacation and Christmas bonuses. The reason? Insolvency proceedings of the port's personnel reserve in 2021 led to a so -called employment security collective agreement, which imposed drastic cuts to the employees.
Originally, this contract was supposed to expire at the end of last year, but the reality is different: the contract remains in force until the GHB management and the Verdi union find a new consensus. But the negotiations are tough and run up without the prospect of improvement soon. The affected workers look at the continued discussions with great concern, which turn out to be extremely tedious. The perspective on a return to just wages is a long way off, while the uncertainty in the port is overhand.
negotiation arrival and fears of the future
The persistent wage censures not only burdened the financial situation of the port workers, but also shaken the feeling of security and stability in the industry. An end to these difficult negotiations is currently not in sight and the concerns of the employees are growing. The hope of a quick agreement is dwindling, while the GHB management and Verdi continue to work towards a breakthrough
