Teenager races with Simson up to 150 km/h in front of the police in Vechta!

Essen is in turmoil after a fire broke out in a residential building on Artlandstrasse on Thursday afternoon. The cause of the fire was a game console, the exact cause of which is still unclear. Fortunately, the residents and the volunteer fire brigade were able to quickly control the fire. Nevertheless, the property damage incurred amounts to an estimated 7000 euros.

It also becomes more difficult in Emstek, where a tragic incident led to death on Friday. Around 1:30 p.m. an accident occurred between a car and two cyclists on the Garther Heide, near a substrate. One of the cyclists died at the scene of the accident; This happened on a district road where there is no walking or bike path.

vehicle controls show high alcohol values

The police not only revealed the impending mischief on the streets last week, but also had to report a number of drunkenness trips. On Thursday, a 47-year-old man from Garrel was stopped with 2.46 per thousand in Westeremstek. The afternoon was also uncomfortable for another 42-year-old cyclist from Cappeln, who was traveling with 2.99 per mille: it was also stopped. One case particularly stands out: A 62-year-old man whose driver's license had already been withdrawn due to a previous drunk trip was observed how he got into his car again in Essen on Wednesday.

Another dangerous persecution ride occurred in Vechta on Thursday. Here a 19-year-old driver of a Simson ignored the stopping of a police car and raced on Oldenburger Strasse-at speeds of up to 150 km/h. The police are now investigating suspicion of an illegal race.

The police are also challenged in the matter: In Cloppenburg and Garrel, two burglary victims reported on Wednesday. Unknown perpetrators broke into a house on Braker Strasse and stole jewelry. Similar events were also recorded in Garrel, where burglars penetrated into a family home on Nikolausdorfer Strasse and also stole jewelry. The police are looking for suspects in both cases.

The week was also not without accidents that luckily went mild. In Cloppenburg, a DRK driver received a dent in the car when a pedestrian suddenly kicked his car. Some injuries also bore participants in a collision in Garrel when a 56-year-old overlooked a 19-year-old e-scooter driver when turning. The latter was slightly injured. Furthermore, a 15-year-old was injured in a wheel accident when she was on the wrong side of the street and without light and got into a collision with a driver.

Another worrying event occurred in Löningen, where a 17-year-old fell while driving his small sky. On a walking and bike path, a cyclist came towards him in snake lines, which led to an evasive maneuver and finally to a serious fall of the young person. The responsible cyclist continued his journey without taking care of the injured person, which the police have now acted to actively look for witnesses.

These large number of incidents clearly show that special care is required on the streets and in the residential areas in the Essen/Cloppenburg region. The police urgently warn against the dangers of alcohol at the wheel and the need to promote safer road conditions. The background and ongoing investigation into these incidents have so far been unclear, but the public is asked to provide information in order to identify those responsible.
