Orange Bank in Lüchow: strong sign against violence on women!
In a courageous step against gender violence, the police station in Lüchow has installed a bright -sized bank in its waiting area! This bank is more than just a place to sit - it symbolizes solidarity and encourages victims to seek help. On October 22, 2024, the bank was ceremoniously handed over by Evelyn König, Kathrin Schatz and Nicole Wetjen from the Lüneburg victim aid office. Police Councilor Niklas Botsch, head of the police commissioner Lüchow, emphasized: "The orange bank stands for our unshakable commitment to any form of violence."
The Orange Bänke are part of a large -scale initiative of the Sacred Aid Foundation Lower Saxony, which have already been installed at various district courts. The aim of this campaign is to draw attention to the problems of violence against women and girls. The Lüneburg police inspection had previously set up a bank in Lüneburg, and now Lüchow follows with a strong sign. Flyers that are distributed around the bank and a QR code offer immediate access to information offers for those affected. Another bank will be handed over to the Uelzen police commissioner in November.
a visible sign against violence
The message is clear: on this bank there is "no space for violence". The foundation has joined the UN campaign "Orange the World", which draws attention to human rights worldwide from November 25th to December 10th. In Lower Saxony, there are already over 30 orange benches at various locations as a sign of solidarity against violence. Not only for the police, but also for the Foundation employees, this is a significant step that leads to the implementation of quick help.
These measures are crucial to raise awareness of abuse and violence and to give a contact point affected. With free, confidential advice, the victim aid Niedersachsen is at the side of the victims and offers comprehensive help, regardless of an advertisement. In a country in which violence against women is the order of the day, this small but powerful act comes at the right time!
