Historical rectory in Wichmannsburg finds new owners

Wichmannsburg, Deutschland - The historic rectory in Wichmannsburg, a half -timbered building over 200 years old, has found a new owner! According to a report by az-online.de , the building sold by the three-knight church community is used by a young couple as a residential building. This decision follows for years of uncertainties on the use of the listed building, which is one of the most striking buildings in Wichmannsburg. Despite the challenges in the financing of the necessary renovations, which were estimated at around one million euros, the new owners are ready to repair the historical heritage.

The rectory, which is part of the parish of the St. Georgs Church, is in a desolate state and urgently needs a renovation. According to Wikipedia it has not served as a residence of the local pastor since 2015 and was originally to be demolished. The temporary vacancy indicated the difficulties that the parish had with the financial burden. The latest purchase offer of 200,000 euros pointed out that the new owner has to comply with the requirements of monument protection - but these challenges do not seem to spoil the couple!

The future of the rectory will now depend on the creativity of its new owner. While earlier plans to use the building as an overnight stay for tourists were destroyed, it remains open how the young couple will redesign the 11 rooms and the spacious property. The sale of the rectory not only marks a fresh start, but also the preservation of an important piece of Wichmannsburg history.
