Gas prices rise drastically: Uelzeners have to expect additional costs!

Uelzen, Deutschland - The alarm bells ring! According to the Verivox price comparison portal, consumers in Germany are facing a dramatic increase in gas prices next year. Up to 56 percent more expensive could be the gas network charges, which will significantly burden the household budgets. In Uelzen and the surrounding area, citizens have to adjust to several hundred euros more per year - a shock for many!

The Uelzen Stadtwerke have already announced that their network charges will increase, but cannot yet give precise numbers because they are in the middle of the calculation. "We will inform our customers about possible changes in good time," they assure. In contrast, the SVO remains optimistic: "We have no price increases for natural gas or electricity at the turn of the year," said a spokesman. This positive message could bring a little relief to many Uelzeners.

How do gas prices sit down? The SVO explains that the final price consists of different components, including legally defined fees such as VAT and CO2 taxes. These factors make up an ever larger part of the final price, on which the providers have no influence. With a typical consumption of 18,000 kilowatt hours, 54 percent of procurement and sales, 16 percent on network charges and measuring point operation as well as 30 percent on taxes and levies. For the coming year, an increase in the last two categories is expected by two percent, which could further tighten the situation for consumers.
