Background of the importance of this day of commemoration: November 9 marks the anniversary of the Reichspogromnacht, in which countless synagogues, business and life were devastated by brutal anti -Semitism. That night thousands of Jews in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia have become victims of violence and persecution. The artist Gunter Demnig emphasizes: "A person is only forgotten when his name is forgotten." These proud stones are not just decoration - they are a lively testimony against forgetting!

in Stade, a total of 21 stumbling blocks have been reminiscent of the victims of the regime who lived here. These 10 x 10 cm stones are more than just a street surface - they are brass commemorative plates that bear the name, the date of birth, the year of deportation and the death location of the respective person. During the theme management, the participants are taken on an emotional journey along these memorials, where each station tells their own moving life story.
