Stade fights against housing shortage: New funding for rental apartments!

Landkreis Stade, Deutschland - The housing market in the district of Stade is under pressure! Especially in the lower price segment, the search for rental apartments for people with low incomes becomes a challenge. In order to counteract this, the district of Stade has an ambitious goal: more affordable living space is to be created! District Councilor Madeleine Pönitz draws attention to the available funds from the 2024 budget.

With the "Program for the acquisition of occupancy rights for existing apartments", landlords receive financial support. Anyone who is ready to rent their apartments to authorized persons can benefit from this funding. The landlords undertake to rent their apartments only to people with a living permit, although the rent must not exceed a defined upper limit. In return, grants flow from the district, and the obligation to bind the rental price applies to a period of five to 30 years.

Special regulations in the Hanseatic Cities

The landlords have to decide who moves into their apartments as long as the prospective tenants meet the funding criteria. The rental prices are based on the "appropriate costs for accommodation" in accordance with the Social Code. This funding applies to the entire district of Stade, but not in the Hanseatic cities of Stade and Buxtehude, which have their own programs for living space funding.

attractive funding amounts for landlords

The funding is 2 euros per square meter of living space and month with a term of five to nine years. With a longer term of ten years or more, the amount increases to 2.50 euros per square meter and month. In addition, landlords who provide their apartments available for at least ten years can receive up to 10,000 euros for necessary renovations. The subsidized apartments must have an appropriate size: up to 60 square meters are permitted for two people, and 15 square meters are added for each additional person. The maximum living space for funding is 95 square meters.
