To tear down and rebuild the Stade of the Costières, Assaf also needs a building permit that was denied it over a year ago. A legal remedy was filed, but the judiciary's decision is still pending. On January 1, the stadium could again become a urban property. The former referee Nicolas Rainville, now a sports delegate of the city of Nîmes, assures: "I tell you and confirm that the Nîmes Olympique will play again in a renovated stade of the Costières, which corresponds to the standards of Ligue 1."
