Heavy transports roll through Nienburg: 50 tons of earth cables in use!

From Monday, November 18, the district of Nienburg will become a scene of spectacular heavy transports! The company Tennet has announced impressive logistics surgery: in just eleven days, 20 massive transports will roll through the region. These transports are part of an important energy transition project that aims to install earth cables between Hoya and Verden.

The heavy transports bring cable drums with a diameter of 4.5 meters and a weight of a whopping 50 tons! The vehicles are gigantic, 38 meters long and equipped with twelve axles. To ensure security, they will drive slowly - only ten kilometers per hour. The transports take place mainly after 10 p.m. so as not to disturb day traffic, as Tennet spokeswoman Svenja Merz emphasizes.

police-accompanied routes

The impressive convoy starts at the Hafenanlage Engter Nord in Bramsche, crosses Venner Straße (B218) and Osnabrücker Straße (B51) to the east. The route continues over Lerverner Straße (L770) and north over Bohmte to the district of Nienburg. The transports are finally led to Steyerberg via Bremer Straße (B61) and end at the construction site of the Mehringen substation on the state road 201 (L201) in Hilgermissen.

Tennet asks the residents to understand the traffic restrictions and recommend avoiding the affected routes during the transport. This impressive campaign is part of a comprehensive project to improve the power supply, which also includes partial cabling. The cables are laid underground to ensure a seamless transition to the overhead line.
