Disaster protection in Stade: record center and new vehicles for emergency services
The fire brigade in the district of Stade shows tireless commitment, despite impending financial bottlenecks! Head of Sabine Brodersen emphasizes that the district administration will do everything possible to further optimize the equipment of the fire brigade and its emergency vehicles. An outstanding example of this engagement is the newly built disaster protection center in Stade-OtNbeck, which is now available in order to serve as a safe refuge in an emergency. With an investment volume of twelve million euros, this facility will provide emergency accommodation for disaster cases and possibly also for refugees.
violence against emergency services
In a worrying trend, Brodersen expressed its concern about the increasing violence against fire and police forces in the district. The events around the turn of the year 2023/2024 in the Altländer district, where emergency services were attacked with firecrackers, are a wake -up call! A policeman was injured and two fire engines suffered. The perpetrators are still unknown. "We have to make all incidents public and report. There must be no tolerance here," said Brodersen.
The fire brigade looks back on one year with 2941 missions, which is 275 less than in the previous year. While extreme weather conditions failed, the flood is reflected in the statistics at the beginning of the year. In addition to the support for Ukraine and the unique search for the little Arian from Elm, the fire brigade's commitment is shown in a variety of facets. At the political level, the impending change of the Lower Saxony Fire Protection Act is eagerly awaited, since the plans of the state government to provide the municipalities with fewer financial resources are met.
The district fire brigade has already received three fire -fighting group vehicles, which are now stationed in Hüll, Burweg and Sauensiek. In addition, another vehicle is provided for disaster protection in Dollern. The district fire chief Peter Winter praised the close cooperation with politics and administration, which led to excellent equipment for environmental units. The youth work of the district youth fire brigade is also recognized, with numerous events and the establishment of new children's fire brigades that secure the future of the fire brigade.
