60 years of the district youth music school: a musical anniversary in Stade!
Stader Kulturhaus, Stade, Deutschland - An impressive anniversary was celebrated: the district youth music school is 60 years old! On Sunday morning, a festive matinee took place in the Stader Kulturhaus Seminarturnhalle, which duly praised this special occasion. District Administrator Kai Seefried did not miss the opportunity to thank the music educators for their outstanding work and to emphasize the immense support of the district.
With around 2000 pupils who are taught at 70 locations in the entire district, the district youth music school is a real center of musical education. The recent talents start in the daycare center at the age of two, while the oldest are about 25 years old, provided they are still in training. A total of 53 committed teachers bring 30 different instruments closer to the young musicians and do everything they can to promote the joy of making music.
music as the key to development
"Music makes children smarter," said District Administrator Seefried and emphasized the importance of musical education. This not only promotes initiative and willingness to perform, but also endurance and concentration. Playing an instrument strengthens children's motor and cognitive skills. The "adhesive effect" is particularly remarkable: Almost three quarters of active adult musicians have learned an instrument during their school days between 6 and 17. In most cases, this did not happen in regular lessons, but through additional offers such as that of the district youth music school, which, with their wide range of musical possibilities, makes a decisive contribution to promoting talents.
