New kindergarten in Nienstädt: Container daycare center as a temporary solution!

A new kindergarten will be built in Nienstädt to meet the increasing need for childcare places. The current lack of capacities caused the municipality to set up a container daycare center as a temporary solution until the new building is completed.

For the next year, at least 18 children will be registered in Nienstädt than there are places. In 2026, at least 20 additional children are also expected who cannot get a place. The Council has already paved the way for the container day care center, which can be built in parallel to the new building. Two possible properties for the new building are in the shortlist, but no details are yet known.

The new kindergarten building is designed for three groups to cover future needs. A total of 60 children are created: 25 in a regular group, 20 in an integrative group and 15 in a crib group. The community assumes that the first children in the container day care center can be looked after in autumn 2025.
