Despite the initial resistance of the local council, which voted against the sale, local mayor Gisela Staucherk has now reached an agreement. The city of Rinteln recommends the sale and the approval of the committee was quickly found.

The decision is based on the new fire department requirement plan, which shows that the old equipment houses are no longer needed. The fire brigade under the Schaumburg has already found a solution: it would like to use a room in the village community center that is currently occupied by the village nurse. This receives a new device shed and the fire brigade can finally use the required space. A real profit for everyone involved!

But not everyone is thrilled! The CDU, represented by Ulrich Seidel, voted against the sale of the fire station in Deckbergen and instead suggests tearing off the building in order to create urgently needed parking spaces. Seidel argues that this would defuse the dangerous parking situation for school children. But Volker Posnia counters from the SPD: The costs for the administration are far too high, and the city has already thoroughly checked this option. The concerns about noise pollution for residents are also not to be neglected.
