From the beginning of November 2024, those affected can borrow wheelchairs in several central contact points. A joint project by the urban disabled advisory board and various institutions ensures that nobody has to do without the visit of shops or offices.

Overall, wheelchairs are available in the following facilities: the office of inner city management, the tourist information on the Lappen, the Office for Participation and Social Affairs at the horse market, the Core, the City Library in the PFL, the State Museum of Art & Culture Oldenburg. Monika Klumpe and Claudia Olthaus from the disabled advisory board emphasize the importance of this offer: "The lending wheelchairs enable many people to visit the city center or in the office. We thus set an important signal for the participation of people with a manner."
