Terrible accidents on the A7: seriously injured and vehicle fire!

Yesterday evening there was a serious traffic accident near Hildesheim in Lower Saxony with several participants, which initially led to a full closure of the A7 motorway. The incident occurred at around 5:20 p.m. between the Rhüden and Seesen junction, exactly behind the T+R system Harz-West.

A 43-year-old driver from Elbingerode drove the overtaking strip with his BMW when he skidded on the rain wet road due to non-adapted speed. As a result, he collided with a Peugeot who was on the main lane and was controlled by a 60-year-old driver from Sibbesse. This collision was violent and led to the Peugeot hit the concrete agent protective wall head -on. While the driver of the BMW was only slightly injured, the 60-year-old and his 81-year-old passenger had to be transported to the hospital in Northeim seriously injured. Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive after the accident, and the total damage is estimated at around 32,000 euros.

It was particularly dramatic that the Audi caught fire through the impact. Fortunately, a fire brigade crew by the Harsum volunteer fire brigade was nearby and was able to contain the fire with a fire extinguisher and later completely extinguish. The driver of the Audis and his passenger suffered serious injuries, but they were not life -threatening. The driver of the Renault and one of his inmates, a 22-year-old from Rotenburg/Wümme, were slightly injured. The inmates of the BMW remained unharmed.

The driver of the Renault was also determined by anesthetic. He was taken from Blood at the Seesen police station and the onward journey was prohibited. His injured passenger was arrested in the Goslar hospital on the basis of a U-hardware command.

The highway had to be closed until around 11 p.m. until the second accident. Vehicle parts and operating materials were distributed on all three lanes, which made the necessary evacuation work even more difficult. The total damage of the two accidents adds up to around 53,000 euros.
