A dramatic weekend for the rescue workers in the Northeim district! The volunteers were challenged around the clock to help with a variety of emergencies that ranged from oil pollution to serious traffic accidents.

The fire brigade in Uslar was already alerted on Friday afternoon when oil was discovered in the Martinsbach. Oil barriers were set to avoid environmental damage. During the night, the Bad Gandersheim fire brigade experienced a shocking scene: an off -road vehicle rolled over a person on Breslauer Strasse. The emergency services raised the vehicle and were able to save the seriously injured victim. Another dramatic deployment in Reyershausen was reported early Saturday morning, where a vehicle crashed into a tree. Drones were used to find the fleeting driver while several units brought the situation under control.

The rescue actions do not tore off! Nebel caused another accident between Bartshausen and Wenzen on Saturday, where two vehicles collapse head -on. The fire brigade not only had to secure the scene of the accident, but also to remove operating materials. Another remarkable event occurred around 2.36 a.m. on Sunday in Hevensen, where a fire was quickly deleted.

The weekend remained turbulent: at 11 a.m. a traffic accident occurred on Autobahn 7, which resulted in a full closure. And a brave passerby gave the alarm in time when a sheep got caught in the electric fence - unfortunately, any help came too late. In the afternoon, an unclear smoke development on federal road 241 was to be reported, where a pile of leaves went into flames.

The highlight of the operations was a kitchen fire in an apartment building in Northeim. Over 50 emergency services worked together to extinguish the fire and bring more than 20 evacuated residents to safety. An impressive example of the tireless use of the volunteers, which also organized training and promotions for the youth fire brigade.
