Northeim sells the leasehold property: green light for motorsport manufactory!
An exciting chapter for the city of Northeim! The city council unanimously decided to sell the leasehold property on Berliner Allee/corner of Dieselstrasse. Buyer is the renowned classic car-sports car manufacturer Bettel's performance, which has been working in the buildings there for years. The sales price for the 1580 square meter area is an impressive 107,000 euros, based on the officially determined landscape value of 68 euros per square meter.
The decision to sell is not only a financial step, but also a strategic. Bettel's performance plans to continue their success story and acquire the existing premises in order to expand their production capacities. Mayor Simon Hartmann emphasizes the uniqueness of the company, which is known far beyond the borders of Northeim. In order to secure this location in the long term, the city administration agreed to the sale, despite the fundamental decision that heritable building rights should not be sold.
Greens demand strategic use of the proceeds
With the proceeds from the sale, the Greens intend to buy new parcels in the core city. Marie Wilp of the Greens comments that the city loses the ability to act through the sale of its own property. This concern was also taken up by Eckhard Ilsemann (FDP), who stimulated that the city should increase its property again. The unanimous decision of the city council shows that there is a broad consensus on the need to strategically use the urban resources and at the same time offer successful companies on site.
