Northeim: CDU requested a 10,000 euro grant for THW security!
In a dramatic step to strengthen disaster protection in Northeim, the CDU submitted an application for an annual grant of 10,000 euros for the THW local association! This grant could enable the THW to buy urgently needed equipment and intensify its valuable work on site. The application was discussed in the last meeting of the city council and transferred to the specialist committee, where the decision is now being raised to the next level.
The Technical Relief Agency in Northeim currently has a hand money of 25,000 euros, but 13,000 euros for the running costs of the THW building and another 11,000 euros for fuel costs must be spent. With the grant requested, the THW could specifically invest in important areas such as infrastructure, training and operating materials. The CDU argues that this contribution is an essential investment in the security of the city.
financing through cuts?
In order to ensure the financing of the grant, the CDU proposes to shorten the annual budgets of the four urban advisory boards - youth council, senior advisory board, migration advisory board and advisory board for people with disabilities. These advisory boards have budgets of over 10,000 euros per year and could do with 7,500 euros, according to the CDU. A bold proposal that rejects the discussion about priorities in the city administration!
