New solar park near Nörten-Hardenberg: 1000 households benefit!
In the Nörten-Hardenberg region there are exciting news in the field of renewable energies. A new solar park is being built, the expansion of which was recently heralded with an official groundbreaking. The facility is located at the Nörten-Hardenberg motorway exit and will help supply around 1,000 households with electricity. The operator of the project is the Greenovative company from Nuremberg, and commissioning is planned for early 2025.
The planned solar park has the potential to produce around 3.56 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. This amount corresponds to a significant saving of over 1670 tons of CO₂. The area extends over more than four hectares and is particularly suitable for setting up the solar modules due to the road conditions and the topography. Part of the site previously belonged to farmer Markus Vogel, who is pleased with the new use of his areas. The difficult management of the stony underground prompted him to make this decision.
Coordination of various interest groups
The northern part of the solar park belongs to the Catholic parish of St. Martin from Nörten-Hardenberg. Both owners, both bird and the church, benefit from the feed -in tariff that they receive from the new use. In addition, the mayor of Nörten-Hardenberg, Susanne Glombitza, makes it clear that the municipality is directly involved in the project and will also benefit the citizens from the income. "So something arrives at the citizen," said the deputy district administrator Gudrun Borchers.
The Greenovative company has already built over 60 solar parks in Germany, and this time it is a special project: it is the first company's own park in Lower Saxony and the first to be created directly on a highway. The investment costs amount to around 1.7 million euros and the company is planned for the next 30 years.
Another remarkable element is the quick progress of the project. There were only six months between the application for construction and the groundbreaking ceremony. The construction is already in full swing and the areas are fenced. Preparations for the solar modules are well advanced, with already installed stands that have been rammed into the ground.
Participation of the citizens
The local citizens have the opportunity to participate directly after the solar park has been completed. Project manager Tara Gerhardt explains that the relevant information is provided after commissioning. This is done to ensure that the citizens know exactly what they are investing in. The schedule for the construction is described as "sporty", but the project managers are confident that the system will be ready for operation in February 2025.
In addition, species protection is also taken into account. The gates between the two halves of the park are left open to give wild animals access. An insect -friendly seed mix is used under the solar modules, and the surfaces are to be mowed twice a year.
In addition to the new solar park in Nörten-Hardenberg, further facilities are also being planned. A much larger system is intended for the construction at Elvese, which is intended to generate over 70 hectares of electricity for around 17,600 households. This project is carried out by the Wattmanu act from Schleswig-Holstein, here a CO₂ saving of 28,000 tons is sought. The costs amount to around 45 million euros, but the approval procedures are still underway, as the mayor Glombitza explains.
