Together against hate: cleaning campaign for stumbling blocks in Uelzen
In an important action against forgetting, the Jusos Uelzen/Lüchow-Dannenberg, the SPD local association Uelzen and member of the state parliament Jan Henner cleaners invite you to clean the stumbling blocks on November 3, 2024! At 12:30 p.m. all committed people meet in front of the Dr. Peter Struck House in Lüneburger Str. 42, 29525 Uelzen. Be there and show solidarity!
What are stumbling blocks? These little commemorative tablets are reminiscent of the victims of National Socialism and demand our commitment to anti -Semitism and any kind of hatred! They are more than just stones - they are a sign of coping with the past and should always remain visible. In Uelzen there are proud nine such stones that are reminiscent of Jewish life and painful losses that this city suffered on Lüneburger Straße, Gudesstraße and Luisenstraße.
strong message against anti -Semitism!
Especially at a time when anti -Semitic attacks increase again, our commitment becomes more urgent than ever! Jewish life in Germany is threatened and fear is omnipresent. Safety measures on Jewish institutions have been massively increased, and many Jewish students feel uncertain to live their faith freely. This worrying Situation has continued to worsen through the recent events in the Middle East.
That is why all citizens are called to clean the stumbling blocks in Uelzen together with us and let their message shine! Everyone can help - please bring plaster flaps and sponges with you if possible and send a sign of tolerance and for forgetting!
