Haie are subject to Laibach: Opportunities forgiven, 2: 4 defeat!

Ljubljana, Slowenien - Innsbruck. Drama on the ice! The sharks from Innsbruck had to surrender 2: 4 in Laibach - a result that is more than disappointing in view of the game conditions for the Tyroleans. After yesterday's success against the KAC, the sharks started with energy, but the chances remained unused. During the first third break, the HCI was 0-1 despite a superiority of 15: 9 shots after Ziga Pance fell in the 11th minute.

The second section began promising for the sharks: Stefan Klassek equalized in the 24th minute, followed by Yushiroh Hirano, who only marked the 2-1 for Innsbruck a few minutes and a half later. But the joy didn't last long! In a real lightning attack, the Slovenes turned the game within 106 seconds. Mahkovec equalized in the power play, followed by ZAJC and Simsic, which turned the game to 4: 2 for Olimpija. Despite several attempts in the last third, the sharks failed to shorten the gap - the goalie Lukas Horak was insurmountable that evening and was voted "Man of the Match".

game course in detail

The sharks showed strong performance in phases, but the lack of efficiency in front of the gate cost it valuable points. With a positive record of shots and a solid first third, there would have been significantly more for the HCI. After this defeat, the Innsbruckers have to go into the international break before returning with a home game against Linz on November 13th.
