Alnatura says Hürth: Disappointment about failed organic supermarket!

The organic supermarket chain Alnatura has finally given up the plans for a new location in Hürth. This surprising decision ensures disappointment among local politicians who have been working on a development plan for the project for years. Alnatura spokeswoman Constanze Klengel confirmed that the rejection is due to a fundamental strategic realignment of the company. Instead, Alnatura focuses on locations in the Cologne city area, where a new market was recently opened.

Hürther local politics had tried intensively to enable the organic supermarket to be located on Kaulardstrasse. A new development plan was set up especially for the project, which provided a three -storey new building with a shop on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors. The plan had already been decided a year and a half ago after the old net market was to be torn down. But now the shop in the shopping mile of Efferen remains empty, which the politicians frustrated.

politicians are disappointed

"We tried everything to meet the investor," says Hendrik Fuchs, the group leader of the Greens. He sees a great need for a organic supermarket in Hürth and is upset about the news he has learned about a real estate portal. Herbert Brehrgen, chairman of the planning committee, adds that it is annoying that the project does not come about because Hürth deserves an organic shop. Mayor Thomas Blank and SPD spokesman Michael Kleofasz also emphasize the need for a organic supermarket in Efferen and ask for economic development to look for alternatives.
