New health center in Holzminden: Hope for the region!
An incredible Christmas present for the Holzminden district! In a pioneering cabinet meeting, the Lower Saxony state government gave the green light for the regional health center (RGZ), which is to be opened on April 1, 2025. Health Minister Dr. Andreas Philippi (SPD) campaigned irresistibly for the approval of 20 beds in Holzminden, including 18 for internal medicine and two for surgery. This decision is no coincidence: In the last legislative period, an Enquete Commission even recommended that they develop such institutions especially for rural regions that are increasingly suffering from supply bottlenecks. The new RGZ will be built at the location of the former Agaplesion hospital, which recently had to close. This finally initiated a turn in a district that has so far existed without inpatient medical care.
The joy of this news is large in the district. MPs such as Sabine Tippelt (SPD) and Uwe Schünemann (CDU) look forward to the breakthrough together with the managing director of RGZ-Holzminden GmbH, Tobias Orthmann. "We are very grateful to our Minister of Health that he supported the idea to build an RGZ in Holzminden from the start," said the response from the participants. This health center should not only strengthen medical care, but could also act as a model for other rural areas with similar needs as the website Holzminden reported. Close cooperation with the municipal medical care center (MVZ) and an outpatient surgical center is also intended to create optimal conditions for the patients.
Special words also came from Lower Saxony's Environment Minister Christian Meyer (Greens), who comes from Holzminden. He described the opening of the RGZ as long -overlapping and congratulated everyone involved on this significant progress for health care in their district. The minister appealed to the importance of regional supply structures and found that the decision was made in terms of general interest. Dr. Philippi himself was optimistic about the development of the health center and emphasized that this facility should create equivalent living conditions for urban and rural areas, as in another article in the tah reported .
