Scholz releases Lindner: traffic light coalition before the end! What now?
Hildesheim, Deutschland - A political earthquake shakes Germany! Chancellor Olaf Scholz has released Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner, and the traffic light coalition project is about to end. Monstrors have announced this moment, but the time causes heated discussions. Greta Garlichs from the Greens in Lower Saxony is outraged: "It is incomprehensible how Lindner can go to the coalition committee after the US election and act uncompromisingly." The decision to dismiss Lindner is considered necessary by many, while the calls become louder after new elections.
FDP base stops at Lindner
The big question remains: How is the FDP going? Despite the crisis, the district association in Hildesheim is optimistic. "An FDP that takes responsibility does not need to be afraid of new elections," explains Henrik Jacobs. The support for Lindner remains strong: "He brought the FDP back after years of opposition and did a good job," continued Jacobs. Political observers are excited to see how the situation will develop while the SPD is preparing for a possible start.
Prime Minister Stephan Weil speaks of a “waking up” of the SPD, and Leyla Hatami from the Hanover region also sees the traffic lights out as a liberation. "Now we can fight for what is important," she says. The mood is surprisingly positive: 84% of those surveyed want new elections and the election campaign is just around the corner. Sören Creutzig from the Greens emphasizes that one has to "accelerate a little more" to prepare for the upcoming challenges.
Wissing causes excitement
Another stir attracts the party leaving minister of transport Volker Wissing, who remains in the government despite his appearance. "We all look forward to Berlin," says Garlichs. Leyla Hatami sees a clear sign in Wissing's step: "It shows that own people can no longer stand behind their party." While the FDP in Hildesheim is still unsure how it should interpret, everyone is in agreement: Germany urgently needs a reliable government solution in these turbulent times.
