Lower Saxony relieves clubs: Gema fees for music events away!

The Ministry of the Interior has concluded a flat rate with GEMA, which means that the events must be registered properly in order to enjoy the exemption from fees. But be careful! Sports clubs that are organized in the State Sports Association remain excluded from this regulation, since they are already freed from the GEMA fee obligation by a separate agreement.

For this measure, around 167,000 euros will be made available this year, and from 2025 the sum is to grow to up to one million euros annually. This is a real bang for the cultural landscape in Lower Saxony!
